Unlocking the Productivity Potential of Your Business

A Recession-Proofing Guide for Small Businesses

By Alan Jackson

Change the Way You Think!

In this report I give you an insight into the thinking necessary to transform your business into a highly efficient and successful operation that is focused on providing real value to your customers at least cost. There really are ways to unlock the productivity potential of your business by surgically taking activities out of your processes that add no value to the customer. These measures will reduce lead time, inventory and wastage, improve quality and increase capacity and workplace morale.

The thinking necessary to unlock the productivity potential that can make a substantial difference to your business is drawn from approaches such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean, “Just in Time” (JIT), Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints (TOC) and Systems Thinking. Although the roots of techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma come from manufacturing, as far back as Henry Ford, don’t dismiss them if you are a service provider. It doesn’t matter if you are in the business of Cake-making or Laser Eye Surgery – the concepts apply
pretty much equally to all businesses.
