The contemporary business world is so dynamic that you must be continuously refining your business to remain profitable and prosper. So I advocate a pragmatic approach involving small, incremental improvements that can realistically be delivered at low cost, rather than an all-encompassing and costly "grand design" that may never be fully implemented.
In my experience, successful and sustainable change happens only when an organisation owns and drives the change process. Your business is pretty much unique, and so are your strategies and operating model in terms of processes, people, and technology. So avoid glossy consultancy firms charging huge rates because of their high overheads and offering "turnkey" solutions that may well result in an unsatisfactory "Procrustean Solution"...
Instead, I provide a bespoke service in which I diagnose and challenge the status quo and then to provide technical leadership, mentoring and skills transfer to help you implement the required changes.

Ideally your team should do any improvement work themselves, under my guidance. If required, I can source a small "accelerated deployment team" to undertake specific improvement projects. As your managers learn first-hand to act on their organisation as a system, to see non-value-adding activities and to operate short-interval, visual control, they will start to change the way they think. They will begin to see for themselves the inefficiencies attributable to traditional methods of work and, as they change things, they develop more confidence in the better methods.
PLUS - you will NOT be charged until I understand the scope and nature of your problems and we have agreed a set of objectives, an outline programme and a start point.
In Greek mythology, Procrustes was an innkeeper who offered travellers a meal and a night's rest. Although he had only one bed, he assured them it was very special, with the unique property that its length exactly matched whosoever lay down upon it. What Procrustes didn't volunteer was the method by which this "one-size-fits-all" was achieved. As soon as the guest lay down Procrustes stretched the unfortunate on the rack if he was too short for the bed or chopped off his legs if he was too long. But no one was left without a place to sleep, albeit a pleasant night's sleep was by no means guaranteed!
